Exploring Indigenous Culture: BAC Students Visit Wahnapitae First Nation

Ms. Falvo’s Grade 11 World Religions class had the wonderful opportunity to visit Wahnapitae First Nation to participate in a variety of activities to help deepen their understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture. The day was filled with meaningful activities, including engaging games, an insightful exploration of treaty history in Canada, and the creation of their very own Wampum belts. Students also enjoyed an assortment of delicious foods, including the Mini Skaan Dog- an Indigenous twist on the pogo- which proved to be a favourite amongst the group.

A heartfelt thank you to Jessica and her amazing team for their warm welcome and for sharing their knowledge with us. Thank you and Miigwetch!

Recognizing Perfect Attendance at Bishop Alexander Carter

At Bishop Alexander Carter Catholic Secondary School, we value the commitment and dedication of our students. In October, 239 students from both the elementary and secondary divisions achieved perfect attendance—a remarkable accomplishment.

To celebrate their success and dedication, our school treated students to a pizza lunch and a soft drink. As part of the event, students participated in a survey to select a reward for November, with the majority choosing a free dress-down day.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their commitment to their education and look forward to continuing to support and celebrate their achievements. Congratulations to all who achieved perfect attendance!
